New Date Set for Opening of US 33 and Ramps in Dublin

Columbus (November 18, 2015) – December 11, weather permitting, is now the new target date to open US 33 along with the two loop ramps at I-270 and US 33 in Dublin.

By December, drivers can travel from one side of Dublin to the other, detour free.

Heavy rains in June and July saturated the soils and pushed more work into October and November. Since a lot of that work is paving, temperatures and conditions must remain consistently warm and dry which is rare during the Fall. To ensure the contractor gets all lanes and ramps open, the date is now December 11.

A small section of US 33 and the ramps from US 33 WB to 270 SB and 270 SB to US 33 EB closed June 8th for construction of the new bridges and ramps over the interstate.

Also in December another milestone will be reached for drivers on two ramps. Soon, there will be two lanes instead one on the exit ramp from eastbound US 33 to I-270 south towards Tuttle Crossing as opposed to one. The far right lane on the ramp ends at Tuttle. The left lane merges with I-270 south.

Drivers leaving Old Dublin heading west to access I-270 north will also be traveling on a new ramp.

Construction on the $71 million project started in March and is scheduled to be complete in 2017.
